Annual GCW Weaving Exchange
Towels from the 2023 GCW Weaving Exchange
Every year, guild members are invited to participate in our annual weaving exchange. Sign-up is free and open to all members and guild associates.
Challenge your skills and creativity by designing and weaving a new tea towel - then experience the pleasure, surprise and anticipation of exchanging your work with another participant!
The 2026 exchange theme is

Mary E. Black was a distinguished master weaver who played an instrumental role in founding the Guild of Canadian Weavers. Participants are invited to weave a tea towel using any draft or combination of drafts from her publication, “The Key to Weaving.”
HOW IT WORKS
Interested members may join the exchange by completing the sign-up form below or by emailing Rita Deverney by November 30, 2025.
Each participant designs and weaves a tea towel based on the annual theme. Towels must be 100% cotton and at least 20" x 30" (50 x 75 cm). Finished towels are due April 15, 2026.
Participants may also take part in an optional email conversation to share ideas and progress.
After the submission deadline, towels will be exchanged among participants. Photos will appear in The Bulletin, with additional drafts, images, and notes posted on the website.
